In the beginning, there were just trees -- tall, proud and mightily high. Men gathered below them, looking up at these mighty creations, thinking what they can do make to these trees useful and how they can put them in service to man. They pondered and thought, and invented some cutting tools, improving them everyday to bring those mighty trees on their knees. Then one day, finally, they had successfully brought down one. Now as the trunk lumbered and laid on the ground, they wondered, What are we going to do with this giant? One excitedly said, Eureka! Eureka! I'm going to make a table, a chair, and bed out of it. And so, the craft of wood furniture-making began.
The craft of woodworking has gone a long, long way from its humble, primitive beginnings. The development of the world's civilisations and societies is closely associated or tied to the advancement skill in using and working on this material. Hence, these days, woodworking is considered as one of the most developed and innovative craft that man has been doing since the age of the Neanderthals. Many ever surmise that the craft of woodworking is not just a skilled art, but also a history in itself, witnessing the transformation of the human society and changing along with times.

Many people love the smell of the wood and love working on wood. So wood furniture and related products have been an in demand commodity worldwide. Moreover, wood furniture pieces have gone from being a piece commonly use in the home only into an important interior feature of offices and businesses.
As an industry, it is one the fastest growing market in the global scale. Especially now that more and more new home owners are opting to go green, wood products have never been this in demand. If this trend will continue for several decades, the wood furniture industry and wood artisans will certainly be seeing a promising future.
